Hi, my name's Astrid Morgreen and I'm a boudoir photographer. My business is located in Miami, in downtown Miami, in a beautiful loft. Boudoir photography is a genre which focuses on women and shows women's beauty. Most of the people they don't know about that. They hear the name for the first time. So they're not really familiar with boudoir photography? It's very sensual, we shoot mostly in lingerie. Sometimes they think that just like or or very, you know, sexual. And this is completely not true. But it's not about seducing men. It's about making women feel beautiful and embracing their womanhood.
You don't need the big studio space to make it work and to have a very good result.
So my studio is set up in this way that everything is easy to move. I can create very different, very like a lot of variety in my set just by moving things around the bed, which we have here is just the air mattress. So it also makes it very easy to use.
So this is one of my favorite corners in the studio. The big balcony doors is a huge source of light, so I can use it in very creative ways, just like my ultimate favorite. Miami weather is very unpredictable. So I need to be ready for different conditions. Sometimes we have like rapid storm coming so quickly and it gets very dark. So that's why I always have my strobes ready and usually I use the brake lights or it's like this. I'm to have like a few supplies and but when I'm focusing more on portrait's, then I love using beauty dish with some diffusion to get like more deep shadows and a little bit more contrast.
One of my most requested props in the studio are this beautiful angel wings, which I did myself. It took me two days to make them, but it was totally worth it. And my clients love them. And here we have another beautiful prop, which is this super glamorous robe, also like one of the most popular props.
I feel like I'm living a dream and still not believing that this is actually my my my job, my my business, my worth. It took me years to figure out that this is what I want to do as a child, that I was very into arts from very, very early age.
I was a very introverted kid. So that was like my little escape to draw. And I was only basically drawing women's faces and beautiful silhouettes of women and I was drawing the angels. So that was the only subject of my art.
At some point when I started modeling as a teenager, I started seeing how the photography world looked. And at some point I realized that I don't want to be a subject. I want to create. I want to be in charge and I started getting into photography.
I wanted to to go to the art university in a very early age. But, you know, down the road, I lost that courage and believe in myself. And I just was thinking I should do something more practical.
I never work with real models because, for me, it was just too easy. It sounds, I know, maybe silly, but it was just I like to discover something in somebody's beauty, which maybe that person doesn't see.
This topic was always very important to me because I personally never feel beautiful myself. If you don't see your own beauty, you will be miserable. You will not be happy with your look.
That's why I focus on women and I like to show them back what I see and make them feel good.

I want my studio to be the number one studio to go in the whole South Florida or even maybe not just South Florida. I'm dreaming big, but I want to grow.
I want to be a better photographer. I want to really focus on the quality of the images and create the images, which I'm like really, really proud of. So I'm like constantly trying to be a better person, better business owner, but a photographer. And, you know, just better in general. So that's my main focus.
Boudoir is more close to my heart. It's not just about the pictures. As I said, this is like really making women, my clients feel good about themselves. Being a photographer and making a living from my passion. That feels amazing.
